You’ve just started your Philips Zoom! take-home whitening journey — great choice!

What’s the difference between DayWhite and NiteWhite?
  • DayWhite: Used during the day, usually 30–90 minutes per session depending on gel strength.
  • NiteWhite: Used at night while you sleep, typically overnight or 4–6 hours.
  • Both contain active ingredients (hydrogen or carbamide peroxide) that whiten safely and gradually under professional supervision.
  • Brush and floss gently to remove plaque.
  • Make sure your trays are clean and dry.
  • Apply a small drop of gel in each tooth compartment
  • Insert trays carefully, wiping off any excess gel that seeps out.
  • DayWhite: Usually once a day for 30–90 minutes.
  • NiteWhite: Usually overnight or 4–6 hours.
  • Always follow your dentist’s exact instructions — overuse can cause sensitivity.

Yes. Temporary sensitivity is common, especially during the first few days.
You can:

  • Skip a day between sessions.

  • Use sensitive toothpaste (e.g. Sensodyne Repair & Protect).

  • Apply the relief gel (if provided) in the tray for 10–15 minutes.

  • Avoid very hot or cold foods and drinks.

The sensitivity usually goes away once the whitening course is complete

During your whitening period and for 48 hours after your final session, avoid:
☕ Coffee, tea, red wine
🍛 Curry, soy sauce, dark sauces
🫐 Berries, colored juices, cola
🚬 Cigarettes or vaping

Choose a “white diet”: rice, pasta, chicken, potatoes, yogurt, bananas, and clear water.

  • Rinse trays with cold water only after each use.

  • Gently brush them with a soft toothbrush (no toothpaste).

  • Keep them dry and store in their protective case.

  • Never expose trays to heat or hot water — it can warp them.

  • Brush and floss daily to prevent new stains.
  • Avoid frequent colored drinks and smoking.
  • Come for regular scaling and polishing every 6 months.
  • Use the same trays for touch-up whitening every few months if recommended by your dentist.
